Strong summer for Coweta swimmers

It was a strong summer for the Coweta County Swim League.

Swimmers from the Summit Family YMCA, the Summergrove Swim Team and the Serenbe Sharks Swim Team joined together to compete at the Georgia Recreation and Park Association State Swim Meet. In total, 48 Swimmers represented Coweta County.

Two swimmers won their respective events; Clara Ji in the 13-14 Girls 50 Backstroke and Olivia Widdowson in the 13-14 Girls 50 Breaststroke.

At the state meet, the top-eight finishers advance to the finals. Coweta swimmers that made it to the finals include:

Relay Team Finalists:

Mixed 7-8 Medley Relay – 6th place in finals: Beau Cofty, Ruby Smith, August Fox and Brooklyn Singleton

Boys 7-8 Free Relay – 5th place in finals: Beau Cofty, August Fox, Dylan Samuels and Ryan Leedy.

Girls 7-8 Free Relay – 6th place in finals: Daisy Lange, Brooklyn Singleton, Mia Daughtry and Ruby Smith.

Boys 9-10 Free Relay – 7th place in finals: Zeke Collins, Christian Banke, Lucas Melquist and Nathan Huffman

Girls 11-12 Free Relay – 8th place in finals: Brooke Leedy, Samantha Sigman, Eliza Wilson and Ella Weisz.

Girls 13-14 Medley Relay – 2nd place in finals: Every Harper, RIley Thrasher, Clara Ji and Olivia Widdowson.

Mixed 13-14 Mixed Free Relay – 2nd in finals: Keegan Stahl, Olivia Widdowson, Clara Ji and Noah Ditmer.

Girls 15-18 Medley Relay – 2nd in finals: Kaitlin Williams, Olivia Horsley, Britta Farley and Ava Collins.

Girls 15-18 Girls Free Relay – 2nd in finals: Kaitlin Williams, RIley Thrasher, Ava Collins and Olivia Horsley.

The Summit Family YMCA Titans begin their year-round season again in September.
