Red Hook hands Marlboro its first loss in MHAL golf – Daily Freeman

RED HOOK, NY — Macklin Boyd fired a 4-over-par 40 to lead Red Hook’s golf team to a seven-stroke victory over previously unbeaten Marlboro in a showdown of top Mid-Hudson Athletic League (MHAL) golf teams Thursday at Red Hook. Golf Club.

The Raiders (4-1) edged the Dukes (4-1) by a 173-180 score in a tightly-contested match at the par-36 Red Hook Golf Club layout. Joseph Biernat had the second-lowest score for the Raiders with a 43, while Matt Simmons and Matt Finch added 45s for Red Hook’s well-balanced lineup.

Dan Conrad’s 42 was low for Marlboro. John Ryder added a 44, while Liam Conn and Jamison Birkenstock tallied 47s.

Red Hook 185, Roosevelt 204

At Red Hook Golf Club on Wednesday, the Raiders were led by Justin Kayse-Hughes (44), Biernat (45), Simmons (47) and Boyd (49).

The Presidents’ Ike Rothman was medalist with a 40. Other counting scores for Roosevelt were posted by Ian Nelson (50), Gavin Rosa (51) and Jackson Booth (63).

Rhinebeck 172, Ontario 199

At Red Hook Golf Club on Wednesday, Rhinebeck improved to 5-0 with the win over the visiting Eagles.

Rhinebeck’s Carter Hines was the medalist with an even-par 36 on Red Hook’s front nine. He was followed by teammates Richie Dentico (43), Sam Fleming (45) and Nico Dentico (48).

For Onteora, Tyler Bard was the low scorer with a 45. He was followed by Jude Signore (49), Vincent Christofora (50) and Max Scanlon (55).
