INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI basketball program announced its 12-game non-conference slate on Tuesday (Sept. 13), finalizing the Jaguars’ full schedule for the upcoming 2022-2023 campaign. The non-conference schedule includes home games with Brescia (Oct. 27 exhibition), Franklin College (Nov. 19), Spalding (Dec. 12) and Eastern Illinois (Dec. 17).

“We like how this year’s schedule came together,” head coach Matt Crenshaw said. “We’ll be tested early with some really good teams in Iowa State and Drake, which will help prepare us for some other teams we’ll face in non-conference play. With having so many new guys, we’re going to have to come together quickly, but part of that growth comes through the travel opportunities and the games that are played on the road or in early season tournaments. Our main goal is to prepare for Horizon League play and to take care of our home floor.

“The guys are working really hard and we’re just excited to get going.”

Crenshaw’s team will open the season with a two-game trip to Iowa where it will face off with Iowa State (Nov. 7) and Drake (Nov. 9). From there, the Jaguars will head to the Windy City to play Chicago State (Nov. 14) ahead of the regular season home opener with Franklin College (Nov. 19).

IUPUI is slated for the three-game Big Easy Classic in New Orleans where the Jaguars will square off with Denver (Nov. 23), host New Orleans (Nov. 24) and The Citadel (Nov. 25).

The month of December will include home games against Spalding (Dec. 12) and Eastern Illinois (Dec. 17) and a trip to Fort Wayne for the Indiana Classic where the Jaguars will play Southern Indiana (Dec. 19) and Texas A&M Commerce ( Dec. 20).
