Maine Association of Soccer officials approved a new contract with the Maine Principals’ Association. Friday’s announcement is good news for high school soccer players in the state. Last week soccer officials rejected an initial offer, but both sides continued to negotiate for the season to start on time. The president of the Maine Association of Soccer Alex Pleau said one of the things that had to be discussed was how to deal with region- specific travel issues. However, Pleau adds they are now able to do what they love best, grabbing their whistle and officiating sports.
